Unlike more commercial Connecticut country inns that can feel more like tourist attractions than romantic retreats, the Alders Estate remains independently-owned and operated. Over the past three years, the proprietor family has meticulously renovated seven of the eight guest rooms and most common areas, with plans underway to unveil a full-service restaurant and Nordic-inspired hydrothermal spa for both overnight and day guests.

Eight distinctively appointed guest rooms feature curated vintage furnishings, luxury linens, and serene garden views—creating the perfect backdrop for a romantic escape. Select suites include fireplaces; others offer private balconies or oversized soaking tubs. All accommodations provide comfortable reading chairs with plush blankets for cozy relaxation.

The common spaces include a sun-drenched three-season room, the Great Room with its impressive hearth, and the Library stocked with board games, calligraphy supplies, and conversation cards designed to spark meaningful connection and reflection. The Gilded-age architecture, Tiffany stained glass windows, and richly textured woodwork embody an era of refined craftsmanship. Yet, there's an understated elegance about the spaces. Beyond offering accommodations, the Manor House has become a sanctuary for visitors to truly unplug and unwind, far from the urban bustle and dopamine-driven experiences that hinder true relaxation.
